This video presents the new £1 million double storey cricket pavilion constructed by Sports Clubhouses for Dartford Cricket Club working with Dartford Borough Council. The pavilion was constructed using an innovative, and ground breaking in the UK, prefabricated closed panel build method with exposed glulam beams sweeping across the first floor ceiling. The building will be used by Dartford Cricket Club throughout the year and will also be available for weddings, conferences and similar functions. The pavilion was officially opened by Alec Stewart in the summer of 2015.

Sports Clubhouses were appointed by Reigate Priory CC to work on a redesign of their existing pavilion. The clubhouse was originally constructed in the 1920s as a timber building. Consequently, the clubhouse is a building of some significance in the local area and any redesign would need to retain the character and look of the original pavilion whilst adopting some more contemporary modifications.

Following the destruction by arson of the original clubhouse, we were appointed as lead consultants to work with the rebuild committee to design a new pavilion that would restore Hampton Hill Cricket Club to its traditional place at the heart of the community. Key additional funding was obtained via the innovative use of SIPs Construction Technology which will ensure that the new pavilion is one of the most thermally sustainable in the UK.

This ambitious club had grand plans and needed a building to match that could be expanded when they purchased the adjacent land to make a third team ground. Having viewed the highly successful project at Ashtead designed by Sports Clubhouses the club challenged the same team to design a building that met their needs, refined the Ashtead design standards and yet keep to a very tight budget. The building has not only was awarded the ECB County Showcase Award for 2010 but is so well used that the additional revenue generated has allowed the club to purchase the additional land 3 years ahead of target.
